Not only does quantifiable data make your bullet points stand out because many applicants forget to include such information, it also makes it easy for hiring managers to see exactly what you’ll contribute to the company if hired.

Quantifying your accomplishments doesn’t have to be difficult. If you’re struggling to come up with concrete figures, there’s nothing wrong with an educated guess. You can use “approximately” or “+” to do so:

Architects in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. need to be properly certified to practice, before which they must complete a three-year paid internship.

Include information about your architectural license on your resume to reassure the hiring manager that you’re properly qualified.

Unsure how to start your resume? A resume summary is one of the most effective resume introductions for architects. It lets you showcase your proudest achievements and highlight important quantifiable data to prove your worth as someone who designs and supervises the construction of buildings.

A resume summary comprises four to five bullet points. Each bullet point starts with a skill or achievement you think best illustrates your competency as an architect — for instance, organizational skills.

You then provide an example of how your skill or achievement makes you stand out in as an architect. For example, maybe your organizational skills helped you increase productivity by keeping your blueprints well organized.

Always include a relevant statistic or number in each resume summary bullet point to give the hiring manager an idea of how you’ll contribute to the team once you’re hired.
